FINISH GRADIENT (priority): the couple is the only fully resolved area. Nearby architecture ~60% painted, with clear patches of bare paper and contour line breaking through. Distant buildings and frame edges dissolve into loose graphite and untouched paper before the border. ~20% of the page stays unpainted, mostly upper area and edges. Background is bare paper, not a painted sky. Unfinished edges are intentional.

COMPOSITION: High vantage point. Couple small and back-turned in the lower third. Empire State Building off-center mid-distance. High horizon, deep space, generous open paper above.

WASH: Wet-on-wet bleeding with blooms and backruns. Washes deliberately offset from the ink lines, spilling past contours and stopping short of others. Strong dilution variation within one facade — saturated, ghost-pale, and bare paper in turn. Visible granulation in the paper tooth. Hard wet-on-dry edges beside soft blooms. Reserved white paper as highlights, never white paint.

LINE: Fast searching graphite and fine ink, construction marks left uncorrected. Scribble loops for railings and distant windows instead of literal detail. Weight varies hairline to bold. Faces suggested in a few marks.

VALUE: High-key and airy, with exactly one deep dark note — the shaded face of the nearest rooftop tower in ink navy.
